Extending Dining Table

Extending handmade table with a choice of leg options. This table has 50cm extensions which simply slide in at the end(s). You can buy one or two extensions. They are long enough to allow for a place setting without a table leg intruding. The extensions need to be stored indoors separately (somewhere warm and dry), they do not fit inside the table when not in use.

Our standard table top is approx. 38mm thick (locally sourced Spruce) or you can choose a thicker top (approx. 50mm) for some lengths. The sizes shown on the site are our standard builds so if you want a custom size for example, just email or call us on 01750 725870 and we can process your order that way.

Our tables are built in our workshop in Selkirk by passionate and experienced makers. We only build a few tables each week and spend many hours on each one ensuring real attention to detail and the finest quality. The bases are hand painted in several coats of Farrow & Ball Modern Eggshell to give a smooth period colour finish that is easily cleaned and hardwearing. This table has lots of character that comes from spruce including natural blemishes, knots and splits*. Our tables are made from natural materials (not engineered wood like MDF or veneered panels) so each one is different and you must keep this in mind when considering a purchase. They are smooth to the touch and are ready for every day use with a light Natural, mid Contemporary or darker Rustic wax finish. *If you are looking for a table with less character and a straight grain pattern then please look at our oak table tops which we can make in the extending style too.

Dining Set with Bench(es) – if you would like a bench (or 2!) to go with your extending table please email or call us for a price as you will save money over buying the items separately. The standard bench will be 35cm shorter than the length of the table (unless you specify otherwise) so it will slide underneath between the table legs.

Width Upgrade – Tables come in 6 board widths as standard (approx 88cm – 90cm) and are 77cm in height. Get in touch if you would like a narrower or wider table (in increments of approx 20cm – 21cm) or look for the ‘Upgrades’ item in the shop and add the Extending Table option to your order. Drawer Upgrade – We can fit a drawer to the end of your table or both ends. We can also add a drawer to the side of your table on 180cm and 210cm tables. Drawers can be added to your order by choosing the relevant option in the ‘Upgrades’ product in our shop or at the basket step.
