Orders for this dining set will now be delivered in January 2024 Handmade dining table set with locally sourced Sycamore (Maple) hardwood top with a choice of woods and leg styles. All of the hardwood and softwood we use comes from trees that grew within the Scottish Borders, usually within a 25 mile radius of our workshop in Selkirk. You can choose from straight, tapered or turned legs. The table top is approx. 38mm thick and we can sometimes even tell you where the tree it came from grew. Standard width is 90cm but if you would like it wider, narrower or square please email or call us on 01750 725870 to discuss. We are a friendly bunch so welcome the chance to talk about your requirements. We can make these dining sets from Ash or Beech and Elm is also available in limited sizes so again get in touch if this is something you are interested in. Our tables are hand built in our workshop in Selkirk by passionate and experienced makers. We only build a few tables each week and spend many hours on each one ensuring real attention to detail and the finest quality. The bases are hand painted in several coats of Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell to give a smooth period colour finish that is easily cleaned and hardwearing. The table top is finished in several coats of top oil to create a very durable finish. View the colour options before ordering. We can also make the frame and legs out of the same wood as the top but you'll need to call or email us for pricing. Grooves - our hardwood tops don't come with grooves. The tops are seamless and a lot of time goes into jointing the sections to give the most balanced look. Finish - we don’t apply any coloured finishes to our hardwood tops (our Natural, Contemporary and Rustic finish options don’t apply). They are coated with Osmo Poly-oil semi-mat to protect the wood and to give a hardwearing surface. We can use a natural tone of Osmo on lighter coloured wood to resist the darkening that naturally occurs over time with sunlight. Drawer Upgrade – We can fit a drawer to the end of your table (or both ends) or side of your table. Drawers can be added to your order by choosing the relevant option in the ‘Drawer’ product in our shop or at the basket step. Lead Time – lead time for a Sycamore dining set is 8-10 weeks.

Our tables and benches are made from natural materials (not engineered wood like MDF or veneered panels) so each one is different and you must keep this in mind when considering a purchase. They are smooth to the touch and are ready for every day use with a light Natural, mid Contemporary or darker Rustic oil finish. *If you are looking for a dining set with less character and a straight grain pattern then please look at our oak table tops which we can make in the Dunrig style too. Width Upgrade - Tables come in 6 board widths as standard (approx 88cm - 90cm) and are 77cm in height. Get in touch if you would like a narrower or wider table (in increments of approx 15cm - 15cm) or look for the 'Width Upgrade' item in the shop or shopping cart and add the desired option to your order. Drawer Upgrade - We can fit a drawer to the end of your table or both ends. We can also add a drawer to the side of your table. Our drawers are handmade and feature dovetail joints. The handle can either be finished to match your table top or the paint colour. Dunrig, Mossilee and Linglie tables - you can have an end drawer, two end drawers, side drawer or 2 side drawers*. *Side drawers - if you want 2 side drawers in the same side the table needs to be 180cm or longer. Extending tables - you can have an end drawer or two end drawers. You can also have a side drawer as long as the base length is 150cm or longer (the base length is the table length without extensions). Kitchen Island - you can have a side drawer in sizes up to 130cm and 2 side drawers in the same side in longer sizes. We can also make drawers that are accessible from both sides but please get in touch with us about that. Console and Coffee tables - you can have a drawer in the side i.e. the longest dimension.

Use this upgrade to increase the width of your pine* table top. Each board is approximately 15cm wide. Choose the length of your table (or select 'Extending Table' if you are ordering one) and then the number of boards. Maximum Width: Please do not order more than 2 extra boards. If you want a table wider than 8 boards please call or email us. *Please Note: This upgrade does not apply to our hardwood tops (oak, sycamore or spalted beech) so please get in touch to discuss a wider version.
