Round dining table with a solid oak top and metal pedestal base. All handmade in the Scottish Borders. Ideal for built in seating or where a smaller footprint is required for a large table. The top is approx. 40mm thick. The oak is straight grained with a fair bit of character. The base for this table is made by hand just a few miles from our workshop and is sized to go with the dimensions of the table top. It features 70x70mm heavy gauge steel and can be painted in matt black or any Farrow & Ball colour. Size: comes in 120cm - 170cm. The height from floor to table top is 77cm. Finish – we don’t apply any coloured finishes to our hardwood tops (our Natural, Contemporary and Rustic finish options don’t apply). They are coated with Osmo Polyx-oil semi-matt to protect the wood and to give a hardwearing surface. We can use either a warm tone to give a richer colour or a natural tone to keep the top lighter (photos opposite). Contemporary style handmade dining table made with the top made from Scottish Borders oak and a painted pine frame. The frame has tapered legs but differs from our Mossilee table as the frame aprons are not stepped back and it features a round over running from the legs into the aprons. The legs are also slightly slimmer than the Mossilee. The table top is chamfered on the underside and has rounded corners. Our tables and benches are made from natural materials (not engineered wood like MDF or veneered panels) so each one is different and you must keep this in mind when considering a purchase. They are smooth to the touch and are ready for every day use with a polyx-oil finish for durability. Polyx-oil is developed from natural oils and waxes to provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden furniture. It is resistant to water, wine, cola, juice and tea but is safe enough to be used on children’s wooden toys. Dimensions – the standard width is 90cm but get in touch if you want one wider or narrower. The table is 77.5cm high and there is 64cm from the floor to the underside of the frame. These dimensions can be altered as part of our bespoke service. Drawer Upgrade - We can fit a drawer to the end of your table (or both ends) or side of your table. Sycamore is a very hard timber so ideal for a table top. All of the hardwood and softwood we use comes from trees that grew within the Scottish Borders, usually within a 25 mile radius of our workshop in Selkirk. The table top is approx. 35mm thick and we can sometimes even tell you where the tree it came from grew. The tops are seamless and a lot of time goes into jointing the sections to give the most balanced look. Extending handmade table with a choice of leg options. This table has 50cm extensions which simply slide in at the end(s). You can buy one or two extensions. They are long enough to allow for a place setting without a table leg intruding. The extensions need to be stored indoors separately (somewhere warm and dry), they do not fit inside the table when not in use.
