This is a more imposing chunkier version of our classic Dunrig farmhouse style handmade dining table. The legs are 115mm in diameter and it comes with a thick top (approx. 52mm) and is 5 boards wide (approx. 105cm) as standard. This can be widened to 6 boards (approx. 125cm) using the options below. The legs are still detachable for transport or moving it around within your home. A 180cm table is the minimum size we do in this style and the proportions look great on these larger sizes. The table in the photos is a 210cm x 5 boards in Pointing with a Rustic finish.
Our tables are built in our workshop in Selkirk by passionate and experienced makers. We only build a few tables each week and spend many hours on each one ensuring real attention to detail and the finest quality. The bases are hand painted in several coats of Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell to give a smooth period colour finish that is easily cleaned and hardwearing. View the colour & finish options before ordering.
Our tables have lots of character that comes from aged wood including minor dents, scratches, natural blemishes, knots and splits. They are smooth to the touch and are ready for every day use with a light Natural, mid Contemporary or darker polyx-oil finish for durability. Polyx-oil is developed from natural oils and waxes to provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden furniture. It is resistant to water, wine, cola, juice and tea but is safe enough to be used on children’s wooden toys.
Table Tops – up to 235cm we use our signature reclaimed/locally sourced wood to make the top. On the 270cm and 300cm tables we use only locally sourced wood such as Scots Pine for the top. This wood comes from a local tree surgeon and is guaranteed to have been grown within the Scottish Borders.
Grooves – All of our table tops are machined for thickness, then jointed and glued using biscuits. To give our tops the ‘plank’ style we bevel the top edges of the boards so the edge of each board is visible. Some of our customers want this and some don’t so you now have the option when ordering your table to choose to have a ‘plank’ style top or a seamless top. It makes no difference to the price.
Custom Colour – you can choose a custom colour by selecting this option in the dropdown list below and then we will contact you via email to confirm the colour you want. A custom colour can be any Farrow & Ball colour or another paint manufacturer if required. We can even colour match a paint if you can supply us with a sample to scan.
Drawer Upgrade – We can fit a drawer to the end of your table or both ends. We can also add a drawer to the side of your table. Drawers can be added to your order by choosing the relevant option in the ‘Drawer’ product in our shop or at the basket step.
