Contemporary style handmade dining table made from Scottish Borders beech. The beech frame has tapered legs but differs from our Mossilee table as the frame aprons are not stepped back and it features a round over running from the legs into the aprons. The legs are also slightly slimmer than the Mossilee. The table top is chamfered on the underside and has rounded corners. Our tables and benches are made from natural materials (not engineered wood like MDF or veneered panels) so each one is different and you must keep this in mind when considering a purchase. They are smooth to the touch and are ready for every day use with a polyx-oil finish for durability. Polyx-oil is developed from natural oils and waxes to provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden furniture. It is resistant to water, wine, cola, juice and tea but is safe enough to be used on children’s wooden toys. Dimensions - the standard width is 90cm but get in touch if you want one wider or narrower. The table is 76cm high and there is 64cm from the floor to the underside of the frame. These dimensions can be altered as part of our bespoke service. Drawer - we can fit beech drawer(s) to this table.

Extending version of our oak Quair table which has 50cm extensions that attach at the end(s). You can buy one or two extensions. The extensions need to be stored indoors separately (somewhere warm and dry), they do not fit inside the table when not in use. The Quair table is all handmade by us in the Scottish Borders and is ideal for built in seating, where a smaller footprint is required for a large table or to maximise place settings as there are no legs at the corners. The top is approx. 40mm thick and 90cm wide but if you would like it narrower or wider please email or call us on 01750 725870 to discuss. The oak is straight grained with a fair bit of character. The base for this table is made by hand just a few miles from our workshop and is sized to go with the dimensions of the table top. It features 70x70mm heavy gauge steel and can be painted in matt black or any Farrow & Ball colour. Sizes: A 150cm table with 1 extension is 200cm long and 250cm with 2 extensions. Likewise a 180cm table is either 230cm long or 280cm long. The height from floor to table top is 77cm and it is 90cm wide. Finish – we don’t apply any coloured finishes to our hardwood tops (our Natural, Contemporary and Rustic finish options don’t apply). They are coated with Osmo Polyx-oil semi-matt to protect the wood and to give a hardwearing surface. We can use either a warm tone to give a richer colour or a natural tone to keep the top lighter (as in the photos opposite). It has a drawer at one end with the turned legs and frame painted in Railings. Our tables are built in our workshop in Selkirk by passionate and experienced makers. The bases are hand painted in several coats of Farrow & Ball Modern Eggshell (any colour) to give a smooth period colour finish that is easily cleaned and hardwearing. This table has lots of character that comes from using Scots Pine including natural blemishes, knots and splits*.
